Advance Your Mindfulness Expertise with MBOE Certification

As a Certified Mindfulness Teacher or Facilitator, you are already making an impact—but what if you could amplify your influence by transforming entire workplaces and communities? The Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE) certification is your next step.

This course is tailored for experienced teachers like you, offering:

  • Specialised Training: Deepen your understanding of social mindfulness and its powerful role in organisational transformation.

  • Real-World Practice: Lead the 9-hr MBOE, first internationally recognised 'low-dose moderated MBP', with expert feedback to refine your delivery

  • Expand Reach: Elevate your teaching skills, expand your reach, and make a lasting difference in organisational settings.

This course is designed and delivered in partnership with Mark Leonard - the principal developer of Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE) -  to deepen social mindfulness in organisations which empowers staff to foster psychological safety to create an inclusive, wellbeing culture that maximises performance by releasing the collective intelligence of the group - quintessential for organisations in todays world. Graduates of this course will be certified to teach the MBOE.

MBOE certification will give trained mindfulness teachers a new way of understanding mindfulness and a new way of delivering a mindfulness programme. MBOE exploits social learning to foster relational mindfulness combined with group mindfulness practice. Participants explore the way the human mind creates a sense of self and how self-talk becomes quiet when we experience psychological safety in a group. They develop a mindfulness practice alongside interpersonal emotional regulation skills in workshop activities to foster psychological safety.

The theory that underpins social mindfulness is informed by evidence and theory drawn from evolutionary psychology and organisational psychology as well as embodied cognitive understanding of attention and awareness. Trained mindfulness teachers who take this programme will find the programme offers exciting new perspectives as well as challenging mainstream mindfulness teaching methods.

Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE) is a social mindfulness programme designed to create an inclusive, wellbeing culture that releases the collective intelligence of diverse teams in a VUCA world.

The MBOE curriculum is the first ‘moderated low dose Mindfulness-Based Programme’ recognised by the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA) and the Dutch Mindfulness Teachers’ Association (VMBN). MBOE was then recognised by the European Association for Mindfulness (EAMBA) International Panel for Acknowledgment (IPA).

The MBOE programme itself was developed from the “Frantic World” course taught as a workplace training. This course used the best-selling self-help book by Professor Mark Williams and Dr Danny Penman, Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in the Frantic World. The “Frantic World” course was developed from Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy used for treating depression.

MBOE has been trialled with NHS hospital staff in the UK where it was found to improve Basic Psychological Needs at Work (autonomy, competence, and relatedness), mindfulness (FFMQ), and reduce stress (PSS) (Krusche et al 2020).

The programme is delivered face-to-face or remotely, over six weeks:

As a Six week course, proven to be effective in trial:
